Sttchr Creator Agreement
This Creator Agreement (“Agreement”) applies when you create a shop on Sttchr and sell patterns through it. It adds to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and does not replace them. If anything here conflicts with the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service govern.
1. Who can sell
Selling on Sttchr is invite-only at the moment. You need an invitation from us, a Sttchr account with a verified email address, and you must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live. One shop per account. You sell as an independent seller: this Agreement does not make you our employee, partner, or agent.
2. Your patterns stay yours
You keep full ownership of everything you upload: your pattern files, images, videos, and text.
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, reformat for our tools, display, and promote your listings, and to deliver your files to people who buy or unlock them. It is non-exclusive in both directions: you are free to sell the same patterns anywhere else, and we never ask for exclusivity. We may show your listings, cover images, and shop name in the app, on sttchr.com, and in our own marketing.
3. Content standards
You promise that you own everything you upload, or otherwise have the right to sell it, and that your listings infringe nobody’s copyright, trademark, or other rights. Do not upload someone else’s pattern, a traced or redrawn copy of a pattern you do not own, or images you have no right to use.
Your listings and your activity in the community must also follow the acceptable-use rules in our Terms of Service: nothing unlawful, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or otherwise objectionable, and no spam.
4. Review before listings go live
New and updated pattern files go into review before they appear in the store. We may approve, reject, ask for changes, edit listing details for clarity or formatting, pause a listing, or remove one, including after it has been live. We aim to be quick, and to tell you why.
5. Price, fees, and payouts
You set your own prices, and you can list patterns for free.
Our fee per sale is:
- 10% of the sale price plus $0.30 during your first year of selling
- 20% of the sale price plus $0.30 after that
Your first year starts when you finish Stripe onboarding and your payouts go live, not when you sign this Agreement. The $0.30 covers card processing on low-priced patterns. If we have agreed a different rate with you in writing, that rate applies instead.
Payments run through Stripe. You will create a Stripe Connect account and accept Stripe’s own agreement as part of that. Stripe holds the funds and pays them into your bank account on Stripe’s schedule; we never hold your money. You are responsible for your own taxes, and for giving Stripe accurate identity and bank details.
6. Refunds, chargebacks, and disputes
Sales are final for buyers under our Terms of Service, but we may still issue a refund where the law requires it, where a buyer disputes the charge with their bank, or where a pattern is materially not as described, unusable, or infringing.
When a sale is refunded or disputed, it is reversed out of your earnings, our fee included. If we have already paid it out to you, we may offset it against later sales.
7. What a buyer gets
A buyer gets a personal, non-transferable licence to print your pattern, project it, and sew from it. Whether they may sell finished items made from it is your call: say so in your listing description. They may never resell or redistribute the pattern files themselves.
Once someone has bought a pattern they keep access to the files they bought, and that access survives you unlisting the pattern or closing your shop.
8. Founding Creator
If you opted in as a Founding Creator, it means you are one of our early partners: we will feature you, put extra promotional effort behind your shop, and ask for your input on how the seller tools work. It is a promotional programme, not a change to your fees, unless we agree otherwise with you in writing.
9. Ending this agreement
You can stop selling at any time by unlisting your patterns or asking us to close your shop. We can suspend or close your shop if you break this Agreement or the Terms of Service, if we are legally required to, or on 30 days’ notice for any other reason.
When it ends, your listings come down, sales that already completed are still paid out, and buyers keep access to what they already bought. The licence in section 2 continues only as far as needed to keep serving those buyers.
10. Changes to this agreement
We may update this Agreement. We will revise the effective date above and tell you by email or in your seller dashboard when a change is material.
Fee changes take at least 30 days’ notice and apply only to sales made after they take effect. Sales made before then settle at the old rate. If you would rather not accept a change, you can close your shop before it takes effect.
11. Disclaimers and liability
We provide the marketplace as it is, and we do not promise any level of sales or income. Our liability to you is limited as set out in the Terms of Service.
